Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy.

Hormones are an essential part of the metabolic process of living. Hormones are important for the cells, organs and metabolism. Hormones start to decline through aging, menopause, disease or trauma. Hormone loss is one of the major reasons for deterioration of our health both physically and mentally. Hormones are essential for the body to function and basics for overall optimal health and longevity. Hormones along with proper diet, exercise, nutritional supplements and stress reduction/mindfulness stop the cellular degeneration and allows for the body to heal, slow down the aging process and regenerate new tissue.

The typical response, “This is just part of getting older” is not a requirement of aging and is not what aging needs to look like. Hormone replacement therapy is an updated science which has been shown to not only prolong life but prolong the quality of one’s life.

Imbody Health takes a proactive approach focusing on managing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), metabolic resistance, dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), perimenopause, and menopause symptoms. Imbody Health addresses hormone deficiencies for women throughout their life continuum and continues to reevaluate their needs as they progress through menopause. Symptoms of hormone imbalance in women can include:

  • Fatigue

  • Concentration or memory issues

  • Low libido (vaginal dryness, pain with sex)

  • Mood swings (irritability, depression and anxiety)

  • Hot flashes

  • Night Sweats

  • Headaches/migraines

  • Tender/fibrocystic breasts

  • Weight gain

  • Inability to lose weight

  • Hair loss

  • Thin and dry skin

  • Feeling cold all the time

  • Insomnia

  • Bone loss

BHRT in men typically focuses on the balance of testosterone levels. However, men also benefit from a variety of hormone replacement therapies such as DHEA, melatonin and thyroid. These hormones will optimize the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy, increase energy levels, enhance mood, and improve the ability to concentrate. Symptoms of low testosterone in men can include:

  • Lack of energy/fatigue

  • Declining/low libido

  • Weak erections

  • Poor sleep

  • Decreased muscles and strength

  • Decreased performance and concentration

  • Depression

BHRT is a yearly membership that can be paid for monthly.  Imbody Health does not take insurance for office visits but the office visits meet qualifications and can be paid with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account.  Labs and diagnostics can be billed through your insurance company.

BHRT has an initial consultation fee of $400 for a 2-hour visit, and thereafter is $100.00 a month with blood labs billed to insurance and is a 1- hour visit.

For non-insured, blood labs are a $250.00 cash/card payment.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF BHRT

ESTROGEN

Estrogen replacement therapy reduces the risk of breast cancer and symptoms of menopause such as hot flushes, vaginal dryness, discomfort with intercourse and mental health issues (ie. depression and anxiety). In addition, it improves bone density, skin texture, the ability to burn fat, cognitive function and enjoyment of life.

PROGESTERONE

Women who start progesterone replacement therapy notice an improvement in the overall quality of life. Progesterone is known to protect the uterine lining and drastically reduce uterine cancer, breast cancer, fibrocystic breast disease, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety and diabetes (according to multiple large studies). In addition, this hormone directly stimulates bone formation and has been shown to reverse osteoporosis. It also improves hair, skin, nails, sleep quality and reduces symptoms of PMS.  It also helps promotes calmness and  anxiousness.

TESTOSTERONE IN WOMEN:

Only a small dose of testosterone is necessary to restore women to their natural testosterone levels. Testosterone replacement therapy in women restores libido, reduces depression, increases bone density, improves lean muscle mass and exercise recovery, maintains the health and sensitivity of vaginal tissues and burns fat. It decreases visceral fat and subcutaneous fat and women need testosterone just like men!

TESTOSTERONE IN MEN:

A low testosterone level is a condition common among men as they age, known as hypogonadism. Imbody Health treats this health condition with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The benefits of testosterone include improvements in mood, energy, libido, erectile function, cognitive function, exercise tolerance and recovery. In addition, optimal testosterone levels reduce obesity, depression, anxiety, prostate cancer, diabetes and dementia.

DHEA:

DHEA boosts the production of the body’s white blood cells which fight diseases of every kind. This results in a powerhouse of an immune system with the ability to fight common infections and cancer. In addition, it has been shown to reduce depression, lupus, heart disease, osteoporosis, diabetes and signs of aging. DHEA also delays the onset of chronic illnesses and increases lean muscle mass.

MELATONIN

Melatonin is commonly known for its ability to regulate sleep patterns. However, this is only one of its important functions. This hormone plays an important role in all of the body’s biorhythms and is a strong antioxidant which helps to fight cancer. In addition, research shows melatonin can increase longevity.

THYROID

Thyroid disease and deficiencies are common, especially in people over 45. However, these conditions are treatable with BHRT. Replacing essential thyroid hormones can help to regulate body temperature, stabilize cerebral function (brain fog), increase energy, weight loss, improve mood and energy, decrease fatigue, and helps keep the skin healthy. In women, low thyroid is one of the major causes of thinning hair and fatigue.
